The Galesburg Historical Society is a non-profit, non-political, non-discriminatory organization incorporated in February 2003. All activities are open to the public.
The goals of The Society include discovering and preserving information and items pertinent to Galesburg history, and other communities, in as much as they relate to local history.
We strive to preserve relevant historical documents, accounts, and articles. We work with individuals, families, and organizations to acquire and restore materials and structures of historical and/or architectural merit.
Another fun and active part of Railroad Days is the Saturday Flea Market in Standish Park. The Flea Market includes local vendors as well as those from other towns and states. Food, children’s activities, and music make this a place for everyone’s enjoyment.
Winter activities include the very successful, well attended annual two day Chocolate Fest. The chocolate lovers “dream buffet of everything chocolate” is held at the Galesburg Antiques Mall, corner of Seminary and Main Streets.
